Specialisations

Based around sectors of economic activity and the nature of the documents, specialisations have been honed over time thanks to the number of files handled, the volume of pages translated and the specific knowledge of the translators/revisers employed.

All these specialist areas have the following points in common:

A common and tested working methodology.
The rigorous selection of personnel with deep knowledge of the subject area and familiarity with the relevant terminology.
An approach, organisation and Quality Assurance procedures designed to guarantee optimum quality.
The strict application of the highest quality criteria and standards at each stage of the production process.

At present, a broad range of fields is covered on a daily basis, notably European affairs, economic and financial sectors, the legal world, highly technical areas (information technology and telecommunications, electronics, civil engineering, chemistry, agriculture), to mention just a few specialist areas:

European Affairs: A growing number of European and international organisations, including EU Institutions, players occupying a strategic position in the various fields of the economic, political and social life of the European Union, together with many national and international companies, make use of ATTICA's linguistic services on an every day basis. ATTICA is an accredited translation Bureau for the bodies of the European Union.
Legal affairs: private agreements, miscellaneous contracts, memoranda of association, commercial disputes, etc. Documents from the Court of Justice, which call for a perfect understanding of European law when they refer to the various stages of the administrative or legal process (petition instituting formal proceedings, statement in defence, retort, rejoinder, plea of inadmissibility, etc.), have helped bolster the company's resolutely European bias.
Finance: in the field of economy and finance, many leaders of the banking sector in the strict sense but also more generally of the public sector entrust the Company with the translation of highly specialised documents. Sector specific products: annual reports, audit reports, mutual funds periodic reports, etc.
Technical Industry: The fruit of the demanding but indispensable job of meticulous documentation, the systematic creation of specific glossaries and, if needs be, the consultation of experts, has enabled the company to be counted among the accredited suppliers of major companies established in Belgium, not to mention those abroad.
ICT sector: from press releases, internal communication documents, marketing papers to technical documentation and software localisation.
Medical translations: Life sciences and veterinary. Medical scientific background and expertise, as well as thorough knowledge of the sub-domain treated are key criteria prior to language combination consideration. Regulatory aspects and country specific legislation should be taken into account in order to successfully complete the translation process. From packaging material, medical notices, product catalogues to test reports, specialised editions and technical equipment documentation are some of the subjects already treated.
Entertainment sector: clients/projects references include specialised leisure companies, web operators and books editors as well as child oriented editions.
